2017 Symposium: Richmond

September 11, 2024

Chairman Jean Gilpin, The Winchester-Clarke Garden Club

Jean reported that by all accounts, the first GCV fall Symposium in Richmond on September 26-27, 2017, was a huge success. GCV committees worked hard to provide workshops and speakers, as well as showing and growing opportunities for members. Ticketed events were sold out with 160 attendees at the luncheon with Karen Rexrode, and 300 attendees at Flower Arranging School. There was a steady stream of visitors to the Kent-Valentine House during the day to view arrangements, and the Sip and See on Tuesday evening was also well attended. Members seemed pleased with the shopping experience, and the vendors were happy with their results.

“The Garden Club of Virginia exists to celebrate the beauty of the land, to conserve the gifts of nature and to challenge future generations to build on this heritage.”

These worthy goals have guided the Garden Club of Virginia since 1920.
