2018 Legislative Day was held on January 30 in Richmond. Read GCV Legislative Concerns.

The 2018 Conservation Forum was held at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville on October 25.

The Dugdale Award for Meritorious Achievement in Conservation was awarded to Piedmont Environmental Council. The Conservation Educator Award was presented to Nancy Newman of Charlottesville.

2019 Legislative Day was held on January 28 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

 

The GCV Pollinator Protection Initiative was established in July 2019.

The 2019 Conservation Forum was held at Natural Bridge State Park on September 25 in conjunction with Back to Nature. ‘Trees: Canopy of Conservation” featured four speakers, including Frazier Armstong of Capital Trees, Elizabeth Brantly of Bartlett Tree Experts, Eric Wiseman of Virginia Tech Big Tree Program, and Andrew Moore, author of Pawpaw: In Search of America’s Forgotten Fruit.

The Dugdale Award for Meritorious Achievement in Conservation was presented to the Nansemond River Preservation Alliance. The  Conservation Educator Award was presented to Jim Jones, Natural Bridge State Park Director.

“The Garden Club of Virginia exists to celebrate the beauty of the land, to conserve the gifts of nature and to challenge future generations to build on this heritage.”

These worthy goals have guided the Garden Club of Virginia since 1920.
